I'm sure this won't be published, but just wanted to let you guys know how much I love the liveblog on opinion days, even when I dread the Court's actual decisions. Lyle is a God and SCOTUSBlog performs a great service. So thanks again.
-
We should have opinions -- almost certainly more than one -- at 10a ET.
-
I also like you, but I can't promote you to a deity. I'm sorry.
-
You can see the outstanding cases as always on Kedar's statistics page: www.scotusblog.com
-
The oldest cases are Zivitovsky on the status of Jerusalem on passports and Wynne on state taxing power.
-
Was yesterday the busiest you've ever seen the press room/lawyer's lounge?
-
How effective has SCOTUSBlog's updated Twitter bio been at dissuading people from tweeting angrily at what they assume is CJ Roberts' account? (I selfishly hope not too effective...)
-
We're getting some questions about when we should expect a ruling in the same-sex marriage case. June 29 is the most likely date -- or thereabouts. The Justices should vote today and then it will take a while to draft opinions.
-
Any chance of TDHCA v. ICP today (or soon) or are we going to be sweating that out until the end of the term?
-
Would yesterday have been a day when opinions were held from being released simply because of the longer argument session and the fact that the entire gallery was there for SSM?
-
I'm hoping for Elonis to come out soon. I have a criminal case that has been stayed since December pending this case.
-
6/29 is the day after the anniversary of the Stonewall riots--do you think that would affect the release of Obergefell?
-
What big cases this term have they still not heard in oral arguments?
-
The Chief assigns the majority opinion. How do they decide who is going to write the main or only dissenting opinion?
-
When do you expect them to announce when they will look at Kansas v. Carr and Kansas v. Gleason?
-
When was the last time they carried over a case beyond June (aside from rehearings)?
-
Is there any particular reason why the author of per curiam opinions isn't released?
