In Kevin's McFadden case, the case was remanded to determine whether the error was harmless.
-
No King v. Burwell--Here's the score: SCOTUS: 9, Kudlow: 0
-
That's all for today. Plenty to keep the First Amendment and criminal law folks busy today.
-
Okay, so that's what we have for today. We are NOT getting the opinions in same-sex marriage or King v. Burwell today.
-
We can expect that they will be back on Monday with additional opinions, although we don't know which ones those will be.
-
Thanks to the over 22k watching on the Live Blog right now -- we'll stick around and answer a few questions.
-
What does vacated and remanded mean in non legal speak? :)
-
Even with all of the opinions that they did release today (6!), I would still expect them to add at least one more additional opinion day next week. We should know by the end of the day whether that's the case and, if so, which one(s).
-
Who is reporting on Reed? Love Lyle's reporting, but can't help noticing that all the non-Lyle reporters this week, including Monday, seem to be men - - - shouldn't SCOTUSBlog have at least same gender balance as SCOTUS? Good thing that Amy and Kali are so terrific!
-
Do people cram into the court on decision days? I don't recall hearing about long lines to get in like there are on argument days.
-
It seems like the sign case could have wide effects. My county, for example, allows political signs for 30 days before an election, real estate signs on the weekend, but no commercial signs. Not sure that would survive a challenge.
-
How many opinions are we still waiting on and when does SCOTUS term end?
-
If no one is told about the opinions ahead of time, how do the networks manage to get on the air, before decisions on 'high attention' cases are handed down?
( not referring to the 24 hour cable networks?) -
Amy, since it's so hard to predict what will be rolled out, how are you able to determine by the end of the day if they will extend and which cases would be delayed?
-
Did we get an opinion on Texas Dept. of Housing v. Inclusive Communities - the disparate impact case?
-
Why do folks think that Kennedy will likely write the opinion for the disparate impact case? I'm a newbie @ this so don't quite understand.
-
Kennedy in Davis v. Ayala separately provides a passionate discussion on the problems with solitary confinement with a quote from Dostoyevsky
-
Amy What do you mean "Not clear exactly when the end of the Term will be now." Does the court set it's own end time? Do they have to or not have to end at a certain time? (sorry if this has been asked already)
-
Any predictions on what the King v. Burwell outcome will be?
