-
Last week the justices acted on one petition out of Indiana involving abortion, but a second petition, involving a requirement that a woman who wants an abortion obtain an ultrasound at least 18 hours before the abortion, was not redistributed for the conference last week.
-
We have three new grants. The first is Allen v. Cooper, involving Congress's authority to abrogate state sovereign immunity from suit in copyright infringement cases.
-
The second case is Retirement Plans Committee v. Jander, involving the pleading standard for ERISA cases alleging a breach of duty of prudence.
-
The third case is Holguin-Hernandez v. US, involving whether a criminal defendant must formally object when his sentence is pronounced in order to preserve the issue for appeal.
