There is just one opinion outstanding from the October sitting (which is different from cases argued in October, because cases argued at the tail end of October would be part of the November sitting): Gundy v. United States. We would expect Justice Sotomayor to be writing in Gundy, because she is the only justice who has not yet written for the October sitting.

I noticed in the VA House oral argument that the lawyers said the names of the Justices they were responding to far more frequently than usual (which was admittedly helpful because I still get Justices Breyer and Alito confused when listening, until the hypo starts of course!). Is there an informal protocol - maybe those with more arguments being less likely to repeat the names, or is it just a style thing?

There are now three outstanding cases from the November sitting, Lamps Plus, Virginia Uranium and Bucklew. Alito is the only one who hasn’t written yet. Any way to predict which he might be writing? Obviously a couple of justices are going to have to do two for that sitting.
