Basically if an immigrant has a continuous physical presence in the US for a certain amount of time, he may be eligible for discretionary relief from removal in some circumstances. But the government can stop the immigrant from accruing that time while deportation proceedings are pending by serving a notice to appear.

I get the the feeling that they are trying to present the 2A cases as a unit. Maybe a grant for the all the carry cases, a per curiam for the gun ban cases (i.e., Worman, Wilson, Pena based on Caetano) and dissent from denial for cases that the government will defend like Mance. Is it unusual that when there are a bunch of cases hitting the same idea, that they handle them as a unit?

I also did a post last week on my blog that summarized all of the remaining opinions: http://amylhowe.com/2020/06/03/on-the-home-stretch-the-terms-remaining-decisions/

Regarding opinion releases, remember that we are not getting opinion summaries from the authors of the majority opinions, as we normally would in the courtroom. The justices may be composing these for the heck of it and delivering them to their family members or pets at home, but we will never hear them. And as mentioned below, no oral dissents either.

Question on Dissents
If there a requirment for dissenting Justices to actually write one and for the majority to even respond if they do? Or is it just custom and pratice?
I'm actually talking about a writing a dissenting opinion not making a statement from the bench. -
Just to be clear, especially for those of you who are new or new-ish here. We don't know what cases we're getting today. I think it's likely too soon for anything from the May sitting, though. If I had to bet, and I don't bet, I'd pick either Lomax v. Ortiz-Marquez, Liu v. SEC, or Espinoza v. Montana Department of Revenue.
