I see the summary disposition in Klein as a Vegas-sized neon warning sign to the respondents saying, please try and find some middle ground or a subsequent cert will be granted and J. (enter Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch) will be given the green light to tie up the loose ends, the ends you presumably do not want tied up, that were left behind in Masterpiece.

Hi there, this is Laura from Casetext, I'm a longtime fan of SCOTUSblog and I'm honored (and a little shocked, frankly) that the team is letting me join today. Here's what I really want to know: are there any betting pools on which opinions will be coming down which days? Maybe someone can get creative and do this March Madness style?

When the court does a GVR (hoping I have used that correctly), is it like the court is saying "we're giving you a second chance with a hint that your ruling should align to this other case"? Or is it actually just a question the justices want to know more about or how much the lower court thought about the other case?

Here's a link to the opinion in Manhattan Community Access Corp. v. Halleck. Amy Howe will have our analysis:

At first blush, it is the opposite lineup some might expect -- the conservatives finding that the First Amendment has no application, with the liberals voting the other way -- given talk about conservatives "weaponizing" the First Amendment to limit control regulation of communications businesses. (On the other hand, the end result here is limiting suits against a communications enterprise).
